Editing Tasks
To edit an item on the Task List,
- Select Workflow > Task Manager from the Main menu.
- If you have the rights to do so, you can click the drop-down in the View tasks for User field and select an alternate user's tasks to edit.
- Alternatively, if you simply need to view one of your own or another user's completed tasks, click the checkbox next to the Include Completed Tasks option (and if necessary select another user), then click the View link.
- Click the Edit link in the appropriate task line item. The Edit Task screen will appear.
- View or Edit the information as appropriate for the current task and user. Refer to Adding Tasks if necessary.
- Modify the Domain Assignment where appropriate
- Modify the Subject
- Change the Due Date
- Change the Priority
- Modify the categories
- Add or modify notes
- Click Save to commit any changes you may have made and return the Task List. Click Cancel to return to the Task List without saving any changes.
NOTE – You cannot assign
additional users when editing a task. Once a task is assigned, it belongs
uniquely to the individuals to which it was assigned. Therefore, changes
to a task will apply only to the user for which the changes were made.
You can Reassign a task to one or
more users, however.
If you edit a task, once you return to the Workflow Manager screen, the option Mark as Unread will appear in the task line item. Click this option to set the task to bold face again and to distinguish it from others as needing attention.
