Workflow Referral Tasks

Appointments Beyond the Referral End Date: Action Items will be created simply to identify referrals that need renewal. The criteria used to trigger the alert includes

• Appointments that are scheduled within 14 days of Today's date and that do not have an active Referral on the current case for the Discipline or Program.
• Patients who have appointments scheduled past the expiration date of an existing referral or a referral that has been discontinued.
• Unlike authorizations, the domain filter is tied to the domains associated with the patient's case (there are no referral domains).

Referrals about to Expire: These Action Items are used to identify patients whose referral may need renewal. An item will be created

• For unarchived patients that have an active referral in which the End Date occurs between Today's date and 14 days in the future, and when that patient has at least one future appointment with that referral assigned to it.
• Unlike authorizations, the domain filter is tied to the domains associated with the patient's case (there are no referral domains).  

Appointments Without Referrals: This item reports on patients who have been scheduled for appointments without an associated referral.

• This simply locates and reports on any scheduled appointment that does not have an associated referral.
• When you sort the information by domain, only those domains that have an appointment scheduled without a referral association will appear in the drop-down as options.
