Attaching an Insurance Card

Attach an insurance card quickly and easily to any patient insurance record from the Insurance Card panel on the Plan Information screen. Once attached, the card can be viewed or changed as necessary.

  1. Click the Upload button in the Insurance Card panel. The Upload Insurance Card screen will appear.
  2. Click Select and navigate to the directory where the insurance card is stored.
  3. Once the image is located, select it.
  4. Click Upload.
  5. Click View to verify that the correct image has been captured, or simply, to obtain the insurance information.
  6. If the wrong card has been selected, click Replace to select the appropriate image. Alternatively, click Delete to remove an image altogether.
  7. Click Save to complete the changes to the patient record.

Scanning in an Insurance Card

  1. Click the Scan button in the Insurance Card panel. The Acquire Image screen will appear.
  2. Click the Acquire button in the Acquire Image screen. The Morena Source Selector screen will appear.
  3. Accept the default source if it is correct or click drop-down and select your TWAIN compliant scanner and then click OK.
    4. NOTE – Make sure your scanner is turned on.
  4. Once you click OK, the normal interface for operating your scanner will appear. (This is the software that was installed with the scanner and will be unique to the device you are using.) Scan the patient image as you would normally.

    5. A progress screen will appear during scanning. Once the scan is complete, the image should appear in the Preview panel of the Acquire Image screen.

  5. Click the Upload button. Another progress bar will appear during the upload of the image. Once complete, "This Patient has no picture assigned" will be replaced by the patient's image.
  6. Continue with the patient entry as necessary. Be sure to click Save to commit all the changes you have made.

Key Considerations about Scanning

As you work with your scanner, you may run into a situation in which the TWAIN interface (i.e., the software that drives your scanner) opens in a browser tab behind the tab in which the scheduler is loaded. Because of the nature of how some browsers work on some machines, we have no control over this. The solution is to simply Alt + Tab to select your TWAIN interface.

  1. Hold the Alt key down on the keyboard.
  2. While holding down the Alt key, press the Tab key. A pop-up window will appear that shows the programs that are currently open—represented by their icons. The first icon will be the open program that is front most on the monitor (i.e., the one you see). The icon will be outlined, or selected.
  3. Continue to hold down the Alt key and press the Tab key until the scanner interface is selected.
  4. Release the keys. The scanner interface should now be visible.

Viewing Insurance Cards

Simply click the View button in the Insurance Card panel to view the attached insurance card.

Deleting Insurance Cards

Navigate to the Insurance Card panel of the Plan Information screen and click the Delete button to remove an insurance card from a patient record.
