Guidelines for Editing Appointment Status
In general, as appointment status is edited, keep the following guidelines in mind as what to expect.
- Status will always take the higher value:
- Pending being the lowest
- Arrived
- Seen
- Cancel/No-show being the highest
- If you delete
- The Arrived time when the appointment has no Seen time, then the appointment status will change to Pending
- The Arrived when the appointment also has a Seen time, then the status does not change.
- The Seen time when the appointment also has an Arrived time, then the status will change to Arrived.
- The Seen time when the appointment does not have an Arrived time, then the status will change to Pending.
- You can edit Arrived and Seen times without causing status change.
- If you use the drop-down options to change the appointment status from a status other than Pending (e.g., Arrived, Seen, Canceled, etc.) back to Pending, then (a) the status will change to Pending and (b) the previous Arrived and Seen times will be deleted, regardless of what the previous status may have been.
- If you cancel an appointment that has an Arrived or Seen time, then the status will change to Cancel, but the Arrived and Seen times will not change.
- If you mark an appointment no-show that has an Arrived or Seen time, then the status will change to No-show, but the Arrived and Seen times will not change.
- You cannot enter the “zero hour” of 12:00 a.m. (12-hour time format) or 00:00 (24-hour time format) in the Arrived or Seen times. The program won’t accept them.
