Auto Logout
The Auto Logout feature determines when an idle user is automatically logged out of the system. The maximum idle time the program allows is 60 minutes: i.e., once a user has been idle 60 minutes, she is automatically logged out by the program. The default value in any new system is set to 15 minutes. An administrator can, however, set the threshold to any value between 1 and 60 minutes in 1-minute increments.
Enabling Auto Logout
Complete the following steps to enable the automatic log out feature. The path that you choose depends on whether you have a Clinic product or one of the domain versions of the program.
- Do either of the following according to the product you have:
- Select Data Maintenance > System and Security > System Settings from the Main menu. The General System Settings screen will be displayed.
- Navigate to the Options panel
- Locate the Automatically log users out after option and enter the time threshold after which the system should log inactive users out of the program. The field increments in minutes.
- Change any of the other system settings as needed, and then click Save to commit the changes.
- Select Data Maintenance > Domain Maintenance > Domains from the Main menu. The Edit Domain screen will appear.
- Locate the Automatically log users out after option. It appears just above the Procedure Categories panel.
- Change any of the other domain settings as needed, and then click Save to commit the changes.
- Enter a value 1 to 60 minutes. If the user schedules in more than one domain, the shortest logout configuration will determine when the user is logged out. That is, if this option is set to 30 minutes in one domain and left to the default 15 in another domain in which a user schedules, that user will be logged out automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.
- Save your changes.
Key Considerations
- Once a user has been logged out of the program, the browser returns to the Customer Login screen.
- Configure this setting to a value between 1 to 60 minutes. Users who schedule in more than one domain will be logged out when the shortest configured threshold is met.
- The auto logout discussion refers to a WellSky Resource Manager configuration. In addition to this feature there is a global IIS maximum setting that can potentially override any configuration an administrator tries to make in WellSky Resource Manager. For example, if the IIS maximum is 20 minutes and you enter anything greater than 20 in the Automatically Log Users Out After xx Minutes of Inactivity field, the system will automatically adjust the value down to a maximum of 20 minutes. If you want the auto logout threshold to be longer, speak with your web hosting service (IT department or WellSky, if self-hosted).
At this point, he or she simply need to enter a valid User Name and Password to re-enter the program.
For example, User A may belong to two scheduling domains that are configured with a 30-minute logout threshold, but their parent domain threshold is set to 15 minutes. The user will be logged out after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Rehabilitation Services: 15-minute Auto Logout. This is the shortest threshold, so users in this scenario are logged automatically after 15 minutes.
